Learn Spanish Language Secrets

Tuesday 27 May 2008 @ 10:24 pm

You can learn Spanish to a certain degree and still have trouble with certain words and sentence constructions. It seems that you are saying them right, but you notice that Spanish speakers say them differently. If you learn Spanish language secrets, you will understand the subjects better.

One thing to remember is that you don’t always have to use the pronoun. If you say “yo,” meaning “I,” each time you could, you will sound strident. This is because using the pronoun is only necessary when you are emphasizing it. If you are constantly emphasizing it, you will sound foolish. Learn Spanish rules like this and you will sound more like a native speaker.

You can learn Spanish word order in its basic form quite easily. It is usually like English except adjectives tend to go after the noun they describe. However, if you spend the time to learn Spanish word order by listening to Spanish speaking people, you will find differences. Meaning can have subtle variations when you change the word order.

There is another secret people can come across when they learn Spanish. There are many Spanish words that look very nearly like English words that you know. Sometimes, they can be considered direct translations.

However, some words only look similar. They actually mean something quite different. Pay attention to the exact translations of words, as you learn Spanish. Using some of these words incorrectly can cause you embarrassment, or can even insult someone.

An interesting secret when you learn Spanish is that common phrases, or idioms, don’t always translate word for word. If you try to translate an idiom word for word, you might get the meaning, or at least an approximation of it.

However, there are many idioms that would seem to mean one thing that mean something else when translated as a whole. The only way to learn this is by experience, or to get a book of idioms. You must remember, though, that there are different idioms in different Spanish speaking countries.

Learn Spanish from textbooks if you like, but when you are put into the culture, don’t rely on them. This is another secret to know when you learn Spanish. Many people don’t speak like the textbooks are written.

That’s ok; English speakers don’t either, if you think about it. If you try to learn Spanish better in this informal way, you will likely make mistakes that the book has not prepared you for. Don’t worry; you can pick up the language from the conversation if you’re alert.

Another secret is that pronunciation is important. The way you pronounce your “b’s” and “v’s” will mark you as a person who does or doesn’t consider it necessary to learn Spanish well. If you don’t roll your “r’s” properly, you will sound like a toddler to the Spanish speaking person. All these little things can set you apart or help you fit in.

Learn Spanish with all the nuances and you will not be looked at as an outsider. Taking a few steps to improve your Spanish will be worth it in the long run.

buy any car 30% - 50% OFF! (here’s how)

Monday 26 May 2008 @ 10:38 pm

World famous Dr Suzanne Gudakunst has just released her biggest “shocker!” ever …

–> Her Secret to buying expensive cars for as
little as $300 a month!

http://topsecretcars.net

Dr Suzanne made it big on both TV and now the Web - but what most people don’t know is that she routinely buys exotic and luxury cars for as little as 50% of what car dealers force everyone else to pay.

She is able to do this because she discovered something NO car salesman ever wants you to find out about!

This Secret is so powerful, yet involves doing just 1-3 things (usually) that will allow you to get ANY CAR you want (including normal day-to-day average cars you see on the highway, to even the most expensive exotic cars such as Lamborghinis and Rolls-Royces!)

Most recently Dr Suzanne herself used her own secret to buy over $1 million worth of cars, but where she saved $700,000 using her amazing new breakthrough secret (so she paid just $300,000 and got 6 very pricey cars worth $1 million - and each one was brand new and this year’s model!)

But you DON’T have to be looking to buy these top and most expensive cars - but can use her secret to buy any car - even a middle-class Sudan or family vehicle.

So, at this point it’s only fair to ask:

“How did Dr Suzanne discover this?”

Simple really …

Although very rich (Dr Suzanne makes over $45,000 a day online alone) Dr Suzanne is the kind of gal who doesn’t believe in paying “extra” if you don’t have to.

One day while shopping around for her first Bentley Rolls-Royce, she got “mixed feelings” from the car salesman trying to sell her the car.

She felt that he wasn’t telling her the truth (a kind of “sixth-sense” sort of thing).

So she began compulsively investigating all the deals she could possibly find elsewhere and online, and in the process she started to see a clear pattern:

–> People are being lied to and cheated out of
$10,000’s each and every time they buy even
a single car!

Dr Suzanne then got really “ticked off” and this drove her to an even DEEPER investigation far, far further until she had a stack of facts, figures and even methods that allowed her to get one over on the car dealerships (for a well-deserved change!)

Being a doctor and scientist, naturally Dr Suzanne wanted to put her “New Discovery” to the ultimate test:

* * * A real “live” case! * * *

So she went out and applied her new found “Secret” only to discover that she could get a Rolls-Royce for as little as $600 a month, and a Lamborghini for as little as $1,160 a month!

She also found that she could get the prices on these same kinds of cars reduced by as much as 30%, 50% or even by as much as 90% (or even more!)

Then she decided to see if this same “Secret” could work for what most people considered “normal cars.”

And guess what: * * * The SAME Secret held TRUE! * * *

Dr Suzanne was now armed with what is now considered by experts at below wholesale buying to be the “Greatest Car Buying Secret” ever discovered!

So powerful and amazing it PROVED in her own life that she decided to share it with several close friends to see if they too could apply it successfully.

And the SAME THING resulted!

One good and close personal friend of Dr Suzanne’s is another Internet Multi-Millionaire (name withheld for privacy reasons) and who wanted to buy a brand new Lamborghini Murcielago which usually costs $412,700* (*this year’s model).

After applying Dr Suzanne’s secret he was able to get it for:

o NO Money down!
o and just $1,300/month!

Yeah, yeah … I know, I know … these people are already rich … so why should they get to use the advantages of her secret, right?

The fact is: Regardless of how much you make (or like most of us, how little!) it doesn’t matter.

As they say “a penny saved is a penny earned,” so imagine saving $250,000 on a super exotic car (which means $250,000 earned!)

Or, for the rest of us, what if you saved:

o $15,000 on your next car purchase, Or …
o $400 a month on payments

These savings quickly add up (and again, BLANK amount saved means BLANK amount earned, regardless of what you put in the BLANKS, right?)

So, if after reading this email you STILL insist on being an “idiot” and paying FULL Price when you no longer ever have to, then fine, leave all the biggest savings to the few of us who are smart enough to grab up Dr Suzanne’s “Top Secret Car Secret!”

Oh, and by the way, with the few of us doing so, the car salesmen will have to screw someone else out of all the money that they are losing to us, so that means “YOU” will be their next victim.

… Unless of course you happen to have a COPY of Dr Suzanne’s “Top Secret Car Secret” like we do!

So, just to be generous, I’ll give you the link** (**But Shhhh! - Don’t go blabbing your mouth all over the Web telling everybody else, cuz we have a pretty good thing here as long as everybody else doesn’t find out about it!)

Here it is:

Good luck !

The Oriental And Occidental Approach To Acupuncture

Monday 26 May 2008 @ 10:32 pm

What is acupuncture? It is healing through the insertion of fine needles into certain points in the body. This alleviates certain symptoms like pain and stress. Today, in Western medicine, acupuncture is used to relieve menstrual cramps, post-operative pain, etc. What it does is to stimulate certain specific points that relate to certain specific ailments. This is done when the needles are inserted into these points. The needles are made of metal and are extremely thin and fine so when they do get inserted, you hardly feel a thing, especially when the acupuncturist is good and experienced. All you probably will feel is a slight warm or pleasant sensation. You sometimes need a series of sessions to relieve symptoms and sometimes you get relief almost immediately.

Let’s first look at the Oriental or Eastern view of acupuncture. In the East, it is a 2000-year tradition. What they say is that when the energy in the body circulates and functions at its optimum best that is when everything works as it ideally should in the body. When this happens, the body is said to be in harmony or in perfect balance. A balance between the two opposites force in the body ?the Yin and the Yang. The Yang is the masculine force and is active, energetic and pertains to the actions and organs that are assertive. The Yin is the feminine force and is cool and relaxed, pertaining to emotions and organs that are passive. Together, they form the energy called Qi which goes around the body maintaining equilibrium. Whether it is mental, physical, spiritual or emotional. When this is blocked or loses its vitality for whatever reason, the body gets into a state of disease. Then the symptoms of illness start making their presence felt.

Why does an acupuncturist agree to treat any kind of illness even if it is psychological? It’s because for him, it all boils down to getting the Qi back and working perfectly again. So it doesn’t really matter whether it is a physical injury or pain or whether it is depression ?he will treat all according to the symptoms with his fine needles and his knowledge of the acupuncture points. So whatever the illness, the diagnosis is based on a lot more than just the physical symptoms.

According to the Western system, there has been ongoing research into acupuncture for a number of years now, at least two decades. Research has thrown up so much success and they have been carefully documented. But though the cures have been seen and experienced, there is still a grey area of how to explain the incredible effect these little needles have. The logical realm of western medicine finds that hard to do, in spite of the empirical evidence. What it does do is try and explain it by saying that it probably affects the nervous system, which when stimulated, produces certain chemicals to heal, relieve pain or strengthen immunity.

This is quite like how the body behaves according to the western viewpoint. Endorphins when released, reduce pain and the system is made immune with the white blood cells. But the process by which a needle can trigger the production of these biochemicals still eludes us. Certain studies have shown that acupuncture actually alters the chemistry in the brain. It is hoped that more studies will throw light on this wonderful healing technique and reveal to us how it works.

The Division Between Astronomy and Astrology

Monday 26 May 2008 @ 10:25 pm

In the early days of science there was a strong link among many between science and religion. Remember how some people thought the earth was the center of the universe? Of

course, the form of astrology has become more separate from astronomy, the scientific field that has been used for studying the

skies for centuries. Astronomy and astrology have been well divided but they are both sciences that have been linked over time.

Astrology is considered to be a very spiritual thing. The horoscopes that appear in newspapers and those small scrolls for sale at grocery store checkouts are samples of how

href="http://www.knowyourastrology.com">astrology works in society. This is essentially a way of looking into the stars and space patterns to see how things will change for

people of different astrological signs.

The division between these two forms of science became evidence in the first century. Tetrabiblos, a book on astronomy by Ptolemy, was written at this time. Ptolemy suggested

here that astronomy should be separate and that science and religion should not be partnered. This led to his theory that the earth is not the center of the universe and that

there is more than what is found on the planet. Ptolemy’s work would become a turning point for studies into the world and a change of thought among many.

One of the main arguments about astrology is that it does not offer scientific proof of things. Astronomy offers scientific proof,

but instead of proving that certain things will happen in other peoples’ lives it is used to prove and accurately predict tides and other weather conditions over the course of

the year. These are all scientific forces and not mystical things.

Of course, astrology is not something to completely frown upon. While it is true that there is a notable difference from science

and religion it should be noted that astrology can be an important part of a person’s spiritual life and that it should not be frowned upon. Besides, astrology is, like other

forms of study, evolving, and for this it should be one that people can follow if they want to. Besides, who knows what discoveries on astrology will be made in the future.

Plus, when both science and religion are able to unite in harmony many great things can happen and people will not be so argumentative in terms of which side is greater.

Astronomy and astrology are both completely different forms of study. Both deal with the stars and other places in the universe. Astronomy is more of a scientific study while

astrology is more of a spiritual study. However, the link between the two has broken up over time but they are still both notable studies that individual work on every day.

Planning a BBQ Clambake Party

Monday 26 May 2008 @ 10:19 pm

Barbeques are popular for events such as the 4th of July, birthday parties, receptions, and going away parties. No matter why you have decided to plan a barbeque party, the memories that will come from it are sure to stick with your guests for many years to come, provided that you plan ahead. Alternatively, a new popular type of barbeque is a barbeque clambake. Clambakes are typically held in a pit on the beach, but if a beach is not available, you may want to consider holding your clambake right from your grill.

1) First, no barbeque would be complete without guests. Plan ahead of time, checking with your potential guest for scheduling conflicts and issues. Finding a date and time that is suitable for everyone should not be to far as long as you everyone enough advanced notice. Remember that not everyone will be able to come, no matter how much notice you give them, so do not get discouraged if you do not get as many RSVPs as your originally hoped for.

2) Be sure to check the weather for that type of year. If you live in a climate that cannot be predicted, then you may want to have a backup plan just incase unusual weather comes. You cannot predict things like rain and thunderstorms ahead of time, but you can make sure that you hold you barbeque during the time of year that will be pleasant to your guests. A barbeque in cold weather may hold more negative memories of trying to keep warm rather then good memories of family and friends.

3) You will need to purchase the items for your clambake. The traditional items you will need is Clams still in the shell, seawater(if available), corn still in the husk, and potatoes.

Side dishes can also be bought, but are not necessary since the potatoes and corn can act as such. If you feel that you need other side dishes, the simplest approach to side dishes is chips and dip. Chips and dip do not require any cooking on your part, and will still be loved by the majority of your guests.

4) Depending on the theme of your party, you may or may not want to purchase decorations. Festive decorations can be found at any local party or general store. You may also consider purchasing decorations that can be stored and reused at a different time, such as reusable tablecloths and Tiki torches. Give your clambake a beach theme by adding tropical music and you may even consider adding some sand.

5) The day before you party, you will want to make sure to thaw, prepare, and marinate the meat you will be cooking. Store the meat stored away, soaking up the marinate until it is time for it to go on the grill. Prepare any side dishes that you can ahead of time.

6) The day of the party, get up early and start preparing for it. You do not want your guest arriving while you are still cooking or hanging decorations. It should only take you a few hours at most to prepare the area in which you will be having the party, but the reactions from your guest will probably seem as if you have been planning this for weeks.

Place your clambake on the grill, layering your already cooked potatoes, corn still in the husk, and your clams on the grill. Then grill these until the corn and clams are complete.

Depending on the time in which your guests arrive, you may want to include you guests in the actual cooking of the clambake. Enjoying a few drinks around the pit or stove will not only give you time to gather and converse, but will also make your guests hungry, as they smell the wonderful aroma coming from the steaming or boiling vegetables and clams.

Types of Physiotherapy That Help Lower Back Pain

Monday 26 May 2008 @ 4:09 am

Lower back pain plagues Americans to the extent that 80% will suffer from it at some time in their lives. It is one of the most common reasons people visit the doctor. For many, the problem is more than a passing incident; they need physiotherapy.

Physiotherapy of different types can be used to treat lower back pain. Acupuncture is fast becoming an important method for the relief of such pain. The doctor has the patient lie face-down and inserts the acupuncture needles across the back. The doctor then finishes the procedure for lower back pain. Pain relief after a series of treatments usually lasts months.

Massage is also used for lower back pain. The massage used must be done by someone well-versed in the treatment of lower back pain. A massage done by an untrained person may do more harm than good.

These methods are called passive therapies, or modalities. They are done to the patient and not by the patient. There are other modalities that are commonly used. Heat and ice packs are a well-known form of passive physiotherapy. They can be used separately, or they can be used alternately by a person who is suffering from acute lower back pain.

A transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulator (TENS) can be used as another modality for lower back pain. The patient will feel the sensation of the stimulator instead of his pain. If the TENS unit seems to work well for him, he will be sent home with one to use at his convenience.

Ultrasound is especially useful as a passive therapy for anyone with acute lower back pain. It delivers heat deep into the muscles of the lower back. This not only relieves pain. It can also speed healing.

Back exercises may be assigned by a physiotherapist. These exercises will help with lower back pain if one does them correctly and faithfully. The only exception is if the back is in an acute condition requiring emergency care or surgery.

The exercises that will help with lower back pain the most will be assigned and supervised by a physiotherapist. They may be done at home, but it will be necessary to follow instructions and check in frequently.

These exercises include ones for lower back pain that stretch or extend the back and ones that strengthen it. One is an exercise where one lies prone and moves as if swimming. This protects the back while giving the surrounding muscles a workout.

Lower back pain exercises called flexion exercises strengthen the midsection to provide support for the back. If the lower back pain is reduced when one sits, these exercises are important. One is a knee-to-chest exercise.

Aerobic exercise such as walking is excellent for reducing and preventing lower back pain as well. Massage and acupuncture can be counted on to relieve pain for most patients. Exercises can make the back stronger to both relieve and prevent lower back pain. Any physiotherapy that can help relieve lower back pain will help millions of people.

How To Easily Restore Your Deleted Files

Sunday 25 May 2008 @ 10:07 pm

There is a good chance you are reading this because you or someone with access to your computer has deleted a file that you would like to recover. This is very possible to do based on how long and how much the computer was used since the file was deleted. This article will also provide some information on what to do if data recovery software cannot solve your issue.

Hard drives do not actually delete information when the user decides to delete a file by default. When a user decides to delete a file and empty their recycling bin it tells the computer that it is ok to rewrite over the portion of space the initial file took up and the files are simply hidden from your operating system making them appear as if they were deleted. There is a likely chance that the file can be recovered or undeleted if the space on the drive has not been overwritten.

Software is required and available on the internet that can be downloaded and installed onto a computer that will easily allow you to recover any files that have not been overwritten. Someone using this software needs to clearly understand that although it is likely to recover recently deleted files it is not guaranteed if the computer has installed or added files after the deletion. Generally, this software will provide a trial to ensure that the software will work properly for your issue prior to your purchase. These trials normally show you what files can be recovered without allowing them to actually be recovered unless the software is registered. File recovery software is normally priced anywhere from 30 to 60 dollars. Variations between applications are normally insignificant but if one is unable to properly recover your files it can’t hurt to try another.

In the unfortunate situation the drive is physically damaged or defective there is still hope. Many services which can also be found online can provide diagnostics to physically recover data from your drive. These services generally cost hundreds to thousands of dollars based on your specific situation or needs but commonly provide a free diagnostic to determine if it is worth your time and money. Companies do this by extracting the hard disk from the drive and seeing if it is possible to read different sectors to see if any data can be saved. The success rate of physical inspections varies but if your data is worth the costly process it is recommended as a last resort.

A Short History of Cigars and Tobacco

Sunday 25 May 2008 @ 9:59 pm

Have you ever wondered where cigars were first produced? It is widely believed that cigars were first produced in Spain. But before
cigars became all the rage in Europe, tobacco was needed to make them. Tobacco is indigenous to the Americas, where native peoples have produced it for hundreds of years. It is believed that the Maya of Yucatan peninsula in Mexico and parts of Central America cultivated tobacco, and even smoked it! Tobacco use spread to other tribes, both north and south. It is believed that its first use in the United States was probably among the tribe along the Mississippi. It wasn’t until Christopher Columbus sailed his famous voyage to the Americas in 1492 that the rest of the world came to know tobacco.

It is said that Columbus was not impressed by tobacco or its use among native peoples, but many sailors grew found of the strange plant. Soon it quickly caught on in Spain and Portugal. From there, it spread to France, where the French ambassador Jean Nicot lent his name to the scientific name for tobacco (Nicotiana tabacum). The origins of the word tobacco itself are still suspect, although many believe it is simply a corruption of the word Tobago, which is the name of a Caribbean island. Still others believe it comes from the word Tabasco, a region (and now state) in Mexico.

The first tobacco plantation in the United States was established in Virginia in 1612. More tobacco plantations followed in Maryland soon after. Although tobacco became a popular crop, it was only smoked in pipes. The cigar was not introduced to the United States until the late 18th century. Israel Putnam, an army general who had served in the Revolutionary War, is credited with introducing the cigar to the United States. He had traveled to Cuba after the Revolutionary War and returned with a box of Cuban cigars. Their popularity quickly spread, and soon enough cigar factories were established in the area of Harford, Connecticut, where General Putnam resided.

In Europe, cigar production and consumption did not achieve widespread popularity until after the Peninsula War in the early 19th century. British and French veterans returned to their homelands after years of serving in Spain with their tobacco pipes in tow. Among the rich and fashionable, the favored method of taking tobacco was the cigar. Cigar smoking remains a habit associated with the rich and discriminating of upper society.
